Bhopal: Traders stage protest, down shutters over cop ‘assault’ on shopkeeper

BHOPAL: Tension prevailed in the Saifia road as shopkeepers came out on the road and staged a protest against the police department.

The whole market was shut for the day and over 400 men gathered on the streets. The matter escalated to an extent that MLA Arif Masood had to intervene into it.

Arif and Nasir Ullah Khan who run a repair workshop in the area requested the police to reduce the fine amount of a customer who had parked vehicle illegealy, as it would then dissuade the customers from entering into the market. But after heated arguments they him up , added shopkeepers.

Peer gate to Bhopal Talkies road is congested and the police has turned it into one way. The arrangement is troubling the shopkeepers as illegally parked vehicles are being towed from the area.

DIG Bhopal Irshaad Wali says that the four cops who are seen in the footage thrashing the shopkeeper will be line attached.
