Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has opened a front against Congress leaders prior to their moving the court on Saturday in Vyapam scam. Chouhan, during a press conference in Chhindwara on Friday, said stalwart leaders of Congress levelled false allegations against him and his family in Dumper and Vyapam scams. Chouhan said his wife was also dragged into the matter. “It took three nights to convince my wife that allegations were false,” he said. Chouhan said all allegations, ranging from note-counting machine to buying mines, have proved false.
Chief Minister said investigation into allegation of selection of 13 persons from Gondia revealed that no one from Maharashtra was selected. Chief Minister said that there was no tampering with the hard disk. He said Congress leaders are arriving in aeroplanes from outside to level allegations against him. Chouhan also asked his ‘friend’ Kamal Nath to ponder about the direction Congress wants to give to the state politics. He said politics was about ideas but Congress was resorting to groping in the dark.
Chouhan was taking out jan ashirwaad yatra in Chhindwara, the bastion of Congress state president Kamal Nath. Union rail minister Piyush Goyal also attended the yatra. Chouhan’s yatra witnessed huge gathering in Nath’s constituency. Chouhan emphasised that the SC/ST Act would not be misused against any innocent person. On Nath publicizing Chhindwara model, Chouhan said that the model was not in existence before 2003. Chouhan said development in the state is an outcome of BJP government and not of Congress.
Taking a dig at Nath, Chouhan said Kamal Nath used to control electricity department during Digvijaya Singh’s government but there were power cuts. Chouhan said the central government would set up six coal mines in this area which would provide employment to the local people. Chouhan announced that the state government would sponsor house rent of students studying outside the city. Rail minister Piyush Goyal said BJP would give reply to Nath by winning all seats of Chhindwara this time.
