Bhopal: Directorate of Public Instructions (DPI) has cancelled result of steno typing exam conducted in 2013. Special Task Force is already investigating irregularities in the exam. The DPI had conducted the steno /typing exam in 2013. Around 2,947 candidates had qualified it.
Later, a complaint was lodged with the DPI accusing a few examination centres and DPI officials of managing the result.
The plaint alleged that at a few centres candidates were allowed to use unfair means. It claimed that a few candidates had submitted duly undersigned blank answer-sheets. A few others had typed two to three lines only. As per the rule, candidate had to put signature at the end of the typed matter.
The complainant claimed that later the typing was done on blank page using different typing machine and the candidate concerned was declared passed. This was done both at directorate and at exam centre level. During investigation, STF detected irregularities and registered a case.
Talking to Free Press, DSP Vijay Sethi said that first chargesheet in the case had been submitted in court indicting 19 DPI officers, including tying exam centre in-charge, a middleman and a candidate. All the accused have been arrested.
He further said that second chargesheet against 25 another accused would be submitted within a month. The DSP said that as the exam had been cancelled, the appointment of all those who had landed the job stands nullified. The STF has already sent a letter in this regard to various departments. It is now up to appointment authority to inform the STF and dismiss the candidates appointed.
Around 15 steno typists had got the job in police department. In March, an accused posted in PHQ and two in district courts had obtained bail from the High Court.
