BHOPAL: Annoyed over the promotion of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) anti-encroachment cell in-charge Qamar Shaqib as zonal officer(ZO), Revenue minister Uma Shankar Gupta said that if Shaqib did well, he should have been promoted to BMC deputy commissioner and not only ZO.
Minister and MiC member Shankar Makoria visited JP Hospital to take stock of health condition of Mira Chaurasia who is undergoing medical treatment after BMC anti-encroachment cell in-charge Qamar Shaqib allegedly had kicked in her stomach after dispute over removal of encroachment in MP Nagar couple of days ago.
People demonstrated at MP Nagar police station for FIR against the BMC officer Saqib for kicking in Mira Chaurasia. SHO MP Nagar Ashish Dhurve said, “Probe is on. So far no FIR has been registered into matter.”
MiC member Shankar Makoria said, “We talked to Dr IK Chugh about the health condition of Mira Chaurasia. Dr Chug told us that Mira will have to be in hospital for three more days as she sustained injuries in uterus due to kick.
FIR has not been registered so far in the case. So irked on this attitude, Minister Uma Shankar Gupta commented that if Shaqib is doing well, he should have been promoted as BMC deputy commissioner.”
