Bhopal: Science Museum holds bird watching camp

BHOPAL: Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal organised Bird Watching programme on Thursday at Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal. Dr. Sudesh Waghmare, former assistant conservator of forests was the resource person for the programme. Twenty students of classes 6-8 participated in the programme.

Waghmare explained the habitat and food of birds. He said that many species of birds have become endangered due to global warming and pollution. During bird watching; Red Vented Bulbul, Hoopoe, Pond Heron, Egret, Painted stork, Black winged stilt, Water hen, Grey heron, Spotted dove, red wattaled lapwing, Cormorant, Pied Myna, Grey heron,  Woolly Necked Stork, Golden Oriole etc.  were identified and the information regarding these birds were provided to the participants.

In-charge of the Museum and Scientist-B Manoj Kumar Sharma and Manik Lal Gupta, Scientist-B were present during the programme.
