Bhopal: Raids at 581 places 332 held as security beefed up

BHOPAL: Intensive checking of the vehicles and persons is being done on 57 check posts under Shahdol Lok Sabha and Nepanagar Assembly constituencies following by-polls. The borders of the state with neighbouring states like Chattisgarh, Maharashtra and 8 districts have been sealed.

Police and excise departments in their joint action, raided at 581 places and filed 415 cases besides arresting 332 persons. As many as 86 vulnerable pockets have been earmarked in both the constituencies and 2000 persons have been identified for prohibitory action.

As many as 5 explosives, 1 cartridge and 54 un-licensed weapons were seized while 3,783 licensed weapons were submitted. The prohibitory action has been taken against 204 persons. Bonds have been filed under CrPC against 4846 persons. Prohibitory action against 8,992 persons under various sections of CrPC has been taken.

Flying squad in Burhanpur has seized cash of Rs 4 crore in Burhanpur. Static surveillance team seized Rs 6.48 lakh from Anuppur of Kotma and Rs 2.50 lakh were seized from Anuppur.
