BHOPAL: At the time when nation is applauding Indian Air Force (IAF) for its valour and return of IAF officer Abhinandan Varthaman from Pakistan to India, one of the two public parks housing fighter jets turned into a tourist destination on Friday. The MiG plane set up at traffic park that remains largely neglected also drew crowds. The people of all age groups including children and students were seen hailing IAF at the parks.
The model of fighter jet at Gandhi Nagar is awaiting formal inauguration. The park located near airport is being developed by Bhopal Municipal Corporation. Many residents were not aware of MiG at the park. They said they heard about jets only when talks about IAF cropped up.
A man who was part of a rally cheering return of Abhinandan Varthaman said the aircraft is now the glory of Bhopal. He said measures are needed to turn it into selfie point. Munnalal Valimki said his children who study in classes IV and VI were vying to see an airplane after reports of IAF started doing rounds in media and social media. He said he wants his son to join IAF.
