Opposition parties rush in to show solidarity with strikers
BHOPAL : Cashing in the dissatisfaction of the striking contractual power employees, political parties have started luring them to their side by promising salve. Over 25,000 power staffers are on strike to press their regularisation demand. The employees paid homage to their departed leader at the demonstration site Ambedkar Park on Friday, who died of heart attack on Thursday.
Contractual Employees’ Association president Ramesh Rathore said the strike of contractual workers of five power distribution companies had entered the 5th day, but the government had not taken any decision into the matter.
The workers are demanding of the government to execute the promise made in the election manifesto of 2013, to regularise the employees.
He added Congress state president Arun Yadav and Aam Admi Party state coordinator had written to them promising regularising if they formed the government.
The BJP and other parties have started preparing for the coming assembly elections in 2018.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is preparing by strengthening its party structure, whereas the other parties like the Congress and AAP have started luring the dissatisfied government employees.
Recently the Congress assured the panchayat secretaries and sarpanches that their demands would be fulfilled if they formed the government.
In last few months government employees are seen demonstrating against the state government, even as they are waiting for the recommendations of the wage board.
Opposition parties have started contacting the top leaders of the associations and are promising them to solve their problems on formation of government.
