Bhopal: In wake of the reports of officers denying weekly off to subordinates, the PHQ has issued fresh instructions directing the seniors to ensure that rule is followed earnestly. Complaints of office heads not allowing their juniors to avail their day off were coming and taking note of the issue,
Police Headquarters on Tuesday issued fresh direction regarding the weekly off. The chief minister Kamal Nath had instructed the DGP to formulate a policy on ensuing weekly off to cops. The PHQ then had issued the orders on January 1st regarding the weekly off to cops posted at police stations and personnel in Special Forces. The officials were instructed to give cops one day off every week. However, many personnel were not given their due weekly off.
According to instructions, the personnel posted at police stations, the SHO have to prepare the roster of the weekly off. It has also been mentioned that in case of VVIP movement or any untoward situation, the weekly off will be cumulated and would be given later in the same month only.
The superintendent of police is the officer who will have the power to suspend the leave and the information about the same would be given to the DIG of the range. Similar instructions have been given to SAF officers, the commandant will be the in-charge officer to provide the leave.
