Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Cops at TT Nagar police station on Thursday busted a gang of robbers who were planning a robbery at a petrol pump to celebrate the birthday of the kingpin of their gang. Police arrested six members of the gang with weapons from an abandoned building. The accused had run out of cash and were planning the robbery to get some cash to celebrate the birthday of their gang leader. and also pay their lawyers' fee who were pursuing their criminal cases. The accused are habitual offenders and have criminal records in different police stations.
In-charge at TT Nagar police station Sudhir Kumar Arjaria said that on Wednesday night police team received a tip off that some armed men were present at an abandoned building in Dussehra Maidan. The cops reached the spot and overheard the men planning a robbery at a petrol pump. They tried to flee when the cops surrounded them but were chased and arrested along with their knives, rods, grinder machine etc.
The arrested persons were identified as Narendra Chavaria (31) aka Kala, Aman Chotale (22), Titu Lodhre (20), Sumit Kol (18) of Banganga and Manish Bhaladhare (21), Vikas Nagarwar (28) of Awadhpuri area. The kingpin of the gang Narendra aka Kala has around 2 dozen criminal cases while Aman Chotale has 12 cases registered against him at different police stations of the city. Other accused also have serious cases registered against them.
During interrogation, they told police that they were out of cash and were unable to pay the fee of their lawyers for pursuing pending cases against them. Moreover, they were also in need of cash for celebrating the birthday of the gang’s kingpin Narendra aka Kala. They had planned the robbery at the petrol pump as they hoped that they would get hefty cash from there, police officials said.
