Bhopal: Onion procurement is the latest scam in the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, stated AICC general secretary Abhishak Manu Singhvi while talking to media at PCC office on Sunday. He alleged that the state government has procured onion at Rs 8 and sold it for Rs 2.60 per kg through PDS and purchased it again for Rs 8 from the middlemen.
He said onion scam is a major scam in the state. “If a non BJP-ruled state had done this type of irregularity, then the prime minister would have charged the CM, but here BJP government is in power and the PM ignored this huge scam. “If anything goes wrong with the Sardar Sarovar project affected or the leaders including Medha Patkar, the government will be solely responsible for that,” he said. The BJP government should accept the genuine demands and should rehabilitate the affected properly, he added.
He criticised the state government on many issues. He alleged that every time the state government constitute commission for irregularities but never tabled its reports. “A commission has been constituted in the Mandsaur farmer killing incident, but till date no case has been registered in the case and the government is delaying the report,” the Congress leader alleged.
He said that investigation into the Vyapam scam is still not over. The CBI is probing the scam but even after years, no final report on the scam. “If the government is not involved in the scam, then the CBI should give a clean chit, but it not happened. If it is declared that the government is not guilty, then we will knock the court door, but it is intentionally delayed,” he said.
