Bhopal Municipal Corporation seeks more time to shift Bhanpur

BHOPAL :  State Government, on Wednesday, has demanded more time from NGT to shift garbage dumping trench from Bhanpur to Adampur. Officials of Urban development told NGT that it will take two years to complete Adampur landfill site.

Environmentalist Dr SC Pandey said, “NGT had admitted petition October 31, 2013 against BMC administration. Bhanpur trench has to be shifted to Adampur landfill which is being developed. Eight civic bodies of two districts -Bhopal, Berasia, Mandideep, Obaidullaganj, Sehore, Ashta, Ichhawar, and Kothari–will use it and 50MW electricity will be produced with MSW.”
