BHOPAL: The state cyber cell, on Tuesday, arrested a 23-year-old man accused of creating a fake profile on Facebook and posting obscene photographs of a national-level female athlete. The main accused in the case was already arrested by the police after receiving the complaint of the victim a few months ago. This was the second arrest made in the incident.
According to cyber cell, accused Aditya Babele was arrested a few months ago after the victim, a resident of Bhopal, lodged a complaint about some unknown person posting her obscene photographs on Facebook by creating a fake profile. She informed that the photographs posted were also taken without her knowledge in a discreet manner. The police after investigations arrested the accused but even after his arrest the profile was being operated with her obscene photographs continuing to be posted.
The victim informed the police about the same after which the cyber cell again resumed its investigations. It tracked down accused Arpit Singh Rathod, a resident of Datia district.
After being arrested he confessed to his crime and said he was provided the password of the fake profile and the photographs of the victim by the main accused before he was arrested. He was known to the victim as they pursued their college education together. The police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of IPC and investigations are on.
