Lokayukta police on Wednesday raided premises of a cooperative bank manager and recovered assets worth lakhs of rupees
The sleuths carried out raids at house of SC Sitoke, cooperative bank manager posted in Seoni. Simultaneous searches were conducted at his Bhopal, Malwa, Harda, and Timrani premises. SP Lokayukta Ivrmeen Shah informed Free Press that they had received information that Sitoke had assets disproportionate to his known source of income. After preliminary investigation, searches were conducted by five police teams at his premises.
Police seized Rs 50,000 in cash and jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh. A Skoda and Swift cars were found parked at his Bhopal residence, some property documents were also recovered, the valuation of the assets is yet to be done. The manager has five banks accounts, police have written to bank authorities regarding freezing of the account. The details of the bank accounts would be made available on Thursday. One of his sons is studying in Philippines a nd another has completed BE from Bhopal. The police are also inquiring about the sources of funding for his studies.
