Bhopal: The state chief secretary has found irregularities in Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan. The programme was launched in the state from April 21 and will conclude on May 31. The campaign was aimed at redressing the problems of villagers, which higher officials were supposed to attend, so that they could be aware of the grassroots problems and help them sort those out.
Chief secretary BP Singh took the divisional meeting at Khajuraho on May 25 and came to know that Gram Sansad, Mahila Sansad and Krishak Sansad were only on papers, while only in some places the ground level work was done properly. The officials are uploading the false details like number of participants at the three sansads and others. It also came to light that officials were not even attending the programmes or taking notes of the Sansad procedures.
The details are uploaded on Panchayat Darpan Portal and on Panchayat and Gramin Vikas Portal. From every district the data is filled, but it is suspected that complaints are collected in one day in place of three-day programme. Earlier in 2016, the programme was done in a transparent manner as the panchayat secretary took photographs of the conducted programme and uploaded on the websites. This year the procedure of photo uploading, except for the first day Gram Sansad event, was exempted and irregularities have surfaced.
Other details like number of participants, number of applications, number of complaints, name of officer and mobile numbers are uploaded, but not the photographs as it was decided earlier. It is alleged that, taking the advantage of the restricted information to be uploaded on the portal, in some places the campaign was only in papers.
