Lok Sabha contestant from Bhopal and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has questioned RSS’s opposition to his candidature in the upcoming polls. Responding to a question while interacting with media persons at AICC office on Wednesday, he said RSS calls itself a cultural and a Hindu organisation.
“I am a Hindu, why should RSS oppose me, what enmity do they have against me- if not then it should call itself a political entity” said Singh. He added that religion unites and politics divide. He said that he will unveil a development plan of Bhopal before election. He said that if Congress wins Bhopal Lok Sabha seat then it will more than 20 seats from Madhya Pradesh.
‘Ghar ka pakka, jaat ka pakka & nare ka pakka’
Giving tips to Congress workers, Singh said that all workers should place Congress flags atop their houses. ‘Ghar ka pakka, jaat ka pakka and nare ka pakka’ was the main tip he have to workers, urging them to ensure each vote from their house, community and the slogan raisers in favour of the party.
Say jai of Sonia ji & Rahul ji
It was Singh’s first visit to Bhopal after announcement of his candidature for Lok Sabha polls from Bhopal constituency. He reached Congress headquarters for an interaction programme with workers where he asked them not to raise slogans in his name rather say jai of Sonia ji and Rahul ji.
Digvijaya visits dargah, temple
Digvijaya Singh while coming to Bhopal stopped at Raisen dargah at early hours (3.30am) of Wednesday. In Bhopal he met workers at Congress headquarters and then attended a Holi Milan programme of government employees. In evening Singh visited Gufa Mandir and stayed there for long.
‘He talked of saffron terrorism, now asserting Hindu identity’
Senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra said it is BJP’s success that a leader who used to talk of saffron terrorism is now proclaiming himself as a devout Hindu. An even bigger question is what has prompted Digvijaya Singh now to announce himself as a Hindu, asked Mishra.
