Bhopal: ‘Gang of ministers, officials grabbing govt land’

BHOPAL: A gang of four was operating in the state and involved in capturing land, alleged MLA Govind Singh while participating in the debate on demand for grant, mineral resources, commerce, industry and employment, Overseas Indian, by minister Rajendra Shukla, on Tuesday. The MLA alleged that in the gang two ministers and two officers were grabbing the government land. He raised the example of Dabra, where one industrialist had captured 8,500 acers of government land. The company lost the case in the High Court, but still holding on to the land, the MLA alleged. He also alleged that the industry department had planned to established an Air Cargo unit in Dabra, but in the district there was no air strip and had no other facilities. Even then the department wanted to established the unit at any cost. He also said many officers had submitted the report in which they had written that the land belonged to government, but some of the officers wanted to transfer the land to the industrialist.

Another Congress MLA Kamleshwar Patel alleged, “So many foreign tours have been conducted in the name of investment, but none of the investments is seen on ground.”

He alleged the companies were not giving employment to the youths, whose land had been acquired for industry. Not only this, but also where the displaced were settled, in those areas houses were in very bad shape, he added.
