BHOPAL: Around dozen ‘munna bhais’ tried to get selected in the police department, but finally got in police web. In 2016, 11,200 constables’ and other posts were filled through exam conducted by Professional Examination Board, better known Vyapam. The recent selection exam pattern developed by Vyapam had filtered the fake and original candidates to get selected in the job.
In the recruitment when the candidates appeared for the exam they had given their finger prints before entering the examination hall and the data was stored. After qualifying the physical exam they registered their presence at the district headquarters for joining. The Police Headquarters had issued orders to the district officials that appointment letter should only be given when the finger print of the candidate is matched correctly. In this process around 200 candidates came under scanner, as their finger prints did not match with their earlier data.
The district officials stopped their appointment letter and sent the data to finger print experts for the matching. Fingerprints of hundreds candidates matched, but those of around 15 candidate did not match with the data. These are candidates never appeared for the exam and cleared it with the help of impersonators. Most of those whose fingerprints did not match are residents of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gwalior and Chambal regions. ADG selection and training Pragya Richa said the police were going to file FIRs against candidates who had come for joining without appearing in the exam.
