A temporary painting and model exhibition on birds of India – was inaugurated at Regional Museum of Natural History, in Bhopal on Wednesday. It is being organised in collaboration with M.P. State Biodiversity Board, Bhopal and Bhopal Birds. The exhibition aims to create awareness about the species of birds among people.
Models and 25 species of birds likes Crimson sunbird, Indian Spot Bill Duck, Himalayan Monal, Purple Sunbird, Common Kingfisher, Black Hooded Oriole, Golden Oriole, Baya, Indian Bustard, Lesser Florican, Sarus Crane, Rose Ringed Parakeet, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Red Crested Pochard, Northern Lapwing, Paradise Flycatcher, Orange Headed Thrush, Indian Roller, Khalij Pheasant, Red Avadavat, House Sparrow, Tickell’s Flycatcher, Indian Pitta among others are displayed in the exhibition.
Artist of the Museum Navin Kumar and modeller Arvind Anupam have displayed their models, while 23 artists from Bhopal and other places of country have displayed their paintings in the exhibition. Barkatuallah University vice chancellor Prof R J Rao was the chief guest at the event. Museum in-charge and scientist-B Manoj Kumar Sharma, coordinator of the exhibition and scientist-B Beenish Rafat, scientist-B Manik Lal Gupta, Mohd. Khalique from Bhopal Birds and Artists and visitors were present at the inauguration of the event. Rafat was the coordinator of the temporary exhibition.
