BHOPAL: Police have formed four teams to search the remaining two absconding accused men who were among the four accused who allegedly killed a 25-year-old man by knocking him down with their speeding car after brutally thrashing him with sticks and swords on Sunday late night at MP Nagar locality here.
Earlier, the main accused Shiva Patil, who is said to be the district president of a Hindu right wing organisation, Rashtriya Hindu Sena along with other accused and his brother-in-law Rocky were arrested by the police on Sunday noon.
“The remaining two accused Bharat Soni and Chotu are still absconding and efforts are on to nab them. The teams formed are searching them in the neighbouring districts of Bhopal while the arrested two are yet to be presented before the court. Investigations are on to nab the remaining two accused,” said investigating officer, assistant sub-inspector Devendra Narwaria.
On Sunday late night at around 1.30, the four accused had went on a rampage in Shanti Nagar area in MP Nagar locality, damaging the windshields of about 25 vehicles parked in the area. Among the damaged vehicles, one of the vehicles was of the deceased. His father Abdul Saeed got information from a neigbour that their mini-truck had been damaged by Patil and his accomplices on which he rushed to the spot with his younger son Sohail Abdul. After reaching their Sohail intervened them and asked them the reason behind damaging their vehicle on which the accused started abusing him and then thrashed him with sticks and swords.
Seeing him being beaten, hios elder brother and deceased Salman Abdul intervened to rescue him but was beaten badly by the accused. He sustained serious injuries and lost consciousness due to the beating. Patil then knocked him down with his speeding car, inflicting serious injuries on his head and righ leg. The deceased was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Sunday afternoon. Patil during the interrogation told that he thrashed Salman because he was enraged after knowing that he wrote abusive words on his car by scratching it.
