Trees and hoardings fell down at dozens of places causing disruption of traffic on various roads and plunging entire state capital into darkness as intense dusty storm with speed measuring 30 kilometer lashed the state capital on Friday evening.
It led to chaos on roads as traffic signals and street lights broke down due to intense wind. State capital came to standstill following sudden change in weather with dusty storm and rain and thundershowers.

Besides, rains and thundershowers lashed the state capital providing relief from scorching heat. After wind, it precipitated. It is just because of western disturbance and cyclonic circulation.  Clouds hovered by the evening leading to dusty wind on roads posing problems to the commuters.  With the load shedding (total blackout), traffic signals went out of order leading to traffic chaos on various prominent roads.

Trees fell down at various places like Char Imli, Murgi Bazar, Suruchi Nagar, Lake View and others places. However, no casualty has been reported.  As per the Call Centre of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC), complaints regarding tree falling were reported from various places. BMC administration has pressed its team to clear the traffic as it was disrupted with falling of trees in middle of roads.

In Arjun Nagar (Char Imli), traffic was totally disrupted with falling of the tree so BMC team was immediately rushed to spot to clear the traffic.  As per the meteorological department, the sudden change of weather in the state capital is due to the Western Disturbance over North Jammu and Kashmir with its induced cyclonic circulation over West Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan.  A trough is extending from this system to North Madhya Pradesh. An Anti-Cyclone is over Central Bay of Bengal. Dust storm or thunderstorm activity with light rain is possible over North Madhya Pradesh.
