BHOPAL: ‘This is an unbelievable system of execution’, was the spontaneous response from assistant professor, department of economics, Virginia University, Sandip Sukhtankar after knowing about the Dial-100 programme, on Thursday.
The 2-member team from MIT, Boston USA visited Dial -100 state control room and observed the working. The team is on research and evaluation of the Dial-100 programme, along with assistant professor, researcher Vishwa Padmanathan who accompanied to the control room.
During the presentation, they raised several questions before IG Anvesh Manglam, also sharing their information about their visit to Bihar and other states. When asked about the higher operating cost of the programme, the IG said 20 per cent was the tax payment given under the programme, which had increased the cost. Similarly they asked about the social concern done by the Dial-100, and it was informed that since the programme had started, 184 neonates had been rescued and admitted to the hospitals.
