Bhopal: Even as the aspiring journo has given ‘clean chit’ absolving the MLA of rape charges, the Congress leader Hemant Katare and co-accused Vikramjeet continue to evade police arrest. On Thursday, the journalism student who had accused Katare of abduction, rape and blackmail filed an affidavit in High Court stating that her FIRs were ‘fake’ and that she was used as a ‘political tool’ by BJP leader Arvind Bhadoriya.
The girl is going to submit the copy of affidavit to the police shortly. While talking to Free Press the girl said that her inner conscious prompted to speak the truth. “My inner conscious is not accepting this whole thing as I am framing an innocent person. I want to lead tension free life and so I submitted an affidavit in the High Court narrating the truth,” the girl said.
SIT in-charge SP Bhopal (South) Rahul Kumar, who is heading the SIT investigating cases pertaining to blackmail, rape and abduction case in connection with the girl and the Congress MLA, refused to comment anything on the girl’s U turn. Nothing can be commented on the case till we get the copies of the affidavit, said Kumar , adding that MLA Katare and Vikramjeet who are still wanted by the police are on the run.
The 21-year-old student has also levelled serious allegations against Advocate Akash Telang who supported her to obtain bail. Telang in his defence said that the allegations made against him were serious and that he or his lawyer will file a reply in the court in the next hearing.
Police had in January arrested the girl after Katare filed a complaint alleging that she was blackmailing him. Later, girl filed a complaint in which she accused the MLA of kidnapping, raping and blackmailing her. The police filed a case against the MLA but he was not arrested.

The journalism student submitted a three-page affidavit before the MP High Court in Jabalpur in which she stated “I would like to confess that the allegations levelled by me in the said FIR are completely false and fabricated and have been levelled because I was deeply agonised by the persecution and harassment in jail. I was told that levying allegations on MLA Hemant Katare was the only way by which I could get bail in the extortion and blackmailing case.”
“Every time I expressed a desire to tell the truth they would get me reiterate false allegations in one way or the other either before the press or in court in the form of statements or writ petitions and make me tell the lie again on the affidavit. I was misled and manipulated to level false allegations against Hemant Katare and was made to believe that by doing so I can take revenge from Hemant for getting me arrested in the false extortion case,” the alleged rape survivor girl submitted before the HC in the affidavit.
