BHOPAL: The state Assembly on Wednesday witnessed war of words, during debate on adjournment motion, between the ruling party and opposition members on the problems faced by farmers following demonetisation.
Legislative affairs minister Narottam Mishra, taking a dig at Congress, said demonetisation has cured Kejriwaal’s cough while the family of Mulayam Singh, which was scattered, became one. Making an indirect attack on Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mishra said the elephant has now secretively joined buffaloes.
Mishra claimed that the Congress is unable to decide whether it should support or oppose demonetisation. The Congress is spreading confusion across the country. Mishra said people standing in queues of ATM do not want to change notes but they want to change the nation.
Speaking in support of demonetisation, Mishra said the nation observed fasting on Mondays when Lalbahadur Shashtri had appealed for it. People did not travel in train when Indira Gandhi had appealed for the sake of Army and now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked for 50 days for nation’s sake and people are supporting him.
Home minister Bhupendra Singh said demonetisation move has been taken to end corruption and promote development. He said there were initial hiccups but now everything is getting normal. People standing in queues are welcoming the PM’s decision. The prices of property have come down. Singh said no one except PM Modi could take such a decision.
Cooperatives minister Vishwas Sarang said demonetization has made Congress and opposition restless. Sarang said it is first time when issues of caste and religion were kept aside and debate on honest and corrupt, rich and poor has begun.
