Bhopal: Dainik Bhaskar Group Chairman Ramesh Agrawal is no more

BHOPAL: Ramesh Chandra Agarwal, chairman of the Dainik Bhaskar Group of Newspapers passed away at a hospital at Ahmedabad on Wednesday morning, following a heart attack. He was 73. His last rites will be performed at Bhopal on Thursday.

Agarwal had left Delhi for Ahmedabad by air at 9.20 am. On his arrival at his destination at 11 am, he complained of pain in the chest after which he was rushed to Apollo Hospital. However, he could not be saved despite the best efforts by the doctors.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences on the death of Agarwal. In a tweet, Modi said, “I am saddened to hear this news. His singular contribution to the field of media would be always remembered.” Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani paid floral tributes to him at Ahmedabad. MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted, “Madhya Pradesh has lost one of its shining stars. His death is an irreparable loss to the Indian media.”
