BHOPAL: Congress MLA Govind Singh, while speaking on demand of grant for health department, said Patanjali Ayurveda Limited was given license for medicine manufacturing in MP but why was it selling food items in the state. It was evading taxes by doing so, Singh added.

Singh said, “There is crisis of doctors and para medical staff in the hospitals and the government should look into the matter. It should also focus on checking drug adulteration as many cases came into notice in this regard.”

Congress MLA Bala Bachchan said, “It is highly ridiculous that the government is considering allowing unani and other doctors to prescribe allopathy  medicines. Second, regarding recruitment of para medical staff in hospitals, the government has made mandatory that only government college pass outs will be recruited.

Then, question arises, why para medical institutes were given permission to run the courses of nursing. When private medical college pass out doctors can be appointed in government hospitals why nurses are not appointed. Recruitment of doctors is still pending in the state.”

“The entire health department seems to be on dialysis. There is an urgent need for its face lift,” the Congress MLA said, adding, “Many hospitals lack city scan and other machines. Patients have no option to go to private hospitals. The minister should look into the matter.”
