The NDA government and the state BJP government had done nothing for the betterment of the women and also for their safety, alleged Congress national media coordinator Priyanka Chaturvedi while addressing a press conference, here on Sunday. She was putting the party’s claim about the schemes and programmes been mentioned in the Party’s vachan patra.
She claimed, “If the party forms the government in the state, then the party will spend its 40 percent of budget on women.”
She claimed that former AICC national president Sonia Gandhi and present president Rahul Gandhi had written to the PM Narendra Modi , demanding to established the 33 percent reservation for women in the assemblies.
“But till date the PM had not even replied on the letter and had done taken any step in this matter,” she claimed.She claimed that the Congress government will identify the black pockets where the women or the girls feel unsafe. She said the party will distribute smart phones to the girls and women in the age group of 17- 45 years, “It will be having a App through which they can send the message if they feel some danger”. Whereas she denied that the party had given the ticket to any candidate who is involved in crime against women.
Replying a question she said the ticket of Barwani is given to the candidate who is having stay on the court order, the said candidate had been charged under the rape case.She claimed that the BJP had given ticket to many of the candidates who are charged for crime against women and among them the PWD minister Rampal Singh has been given ticket, whose daughter-in-law had committed suicide.
