Bhopal: Congress to assign responsibilities of LS constituencies to ministers

Bhopal: The morale of Congress for 2019 Lok Sabha polls is high after coming to power winning assembly polls in the state.
Congress leaders have begun preparing their strategy for the Lok Sabha polls. State Congress in-charge Deepak Babaria is preparing for Lok Sabha elections at Delhi. Chief Minister Kamal Nath, former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, former state president Arun Yadav and former leader of opposition Ajay Singh are also being discussed in connection with Lok Sabha polls.

According to sources most of the stalwart leaders in Congress would be contesting Lok Sabha polls and that is why the ministers would be assigned duties on Lok Sabha polls. Sources said ministers, on the basis of lead taken during assembly polls, have been asked to prepare strategy in all Lok Sabha constituencies. The distribution of charges of districts given to the ministers, has also been done keeping in mind the responsibilities of Lok Sabha constituencies to be given.

Amongst ministers, there is possibility of Sajjan Singh Verma being assigned Ujjain, Khargone to Vijaylaxmi Sadho and Bala Bachchan, Mandsaur to Hukum Singh Karada, Bhind to Govind Singh and Imarti Devi, Bhopal to Arif Aqueel, Teekamgarh to Brijendra Singh Rathore, Balaghat to Pradeep Jaiswal, Morena to Lakhan Singh Yadav, Devas to Tulsiram Silawat, Sagar to Govind Singh Rajput, Gwalior to Pradhyumna Singh Tomar, Mandla and Shahdol to Omkar Singh Markam, Vidisha to Prabhuram Chaudhary, Betul to Sukhdev Panse, Dhar to Umang Singhar and Surendra Singh Baghel, Damoh to Harsh Yadav, Rajgarh to Jaivardhan Singh, Indore to Jitu Patwari, Sidhi to Kamleshwar Patel, Khajuraho to Lakhan Ghanghoria, Guna to Mahendra Singh Sisodia, Hoshangabad to PC Sharma, Khandwa to Sachin Yadav and Jabalpur may be assigned to Tarun Bhanot.

The ministers will be accompanied with a team of MLAs of that area, to conduct election affairs. Congress won merely 2 seats in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Kamal Nath won from Chhindwara while Jyotiraditya Scindia won from Guna. Congress is preparing by setting a target of winning 20 seats this time.

The election campaign of Congress would begin from January 15 with Congress getting farmers to fill application forms for loan waiver. Congress intends to take mileage of loan waiver in Lok Sabha polls and that is why, the ministers have been asked to go to districts to get farmers fill these forms.
