Bhopal: Cong ministers give Vande Mataram recital a miss

The implication of imposition of model of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections was witnessed at the Vande Mataram recitation programme, been held at Mantralaya, here on Monday. A very few people turned up to attended the event, which is held on the first day of the month.Fearing violation of poll code, most of the Congress ministers, leaders gave event a miss and only government officials and employees were seen attending the programme.

However,  public relation minister and district Congress president Girish Sharma chose to attend the event. Scorching heat in city was also one of the reasons for the dwindling attendees.  As usual, the procession commenced from Shourya Smarak with police band playing patriotic songs. Officers and others at the Mantralaya recited the national song .  Among the officers the ACS including M Gopal Reddy, KK Singh, Manoj Shrivastava, Gouri Singh, commissioner Bhopal Kalpna Shrivastava, collector Sudam Khade and other employees of Mantralaya were also present.
