Bhopal: Come, be a part of Chef Mishra’s culinary journey

Bhopal: Chef Ravish Mishra will take Bhopalites on his 12 years culinary journey in a ten-day food festival at Bayleaf at Courtyard Marriott here. In the fest, which began on Friday, the food lovers will get to relish an array of grilled, fried cooked Indian dishes, prepared by the Hotel’s newly appointed executive chef. Mishra has over 12 years of kitchen journey in renowned Indian, American, Mexican, Italian and French Hotels.

Sharing his journey, the Chef, who hails from Delhi, told media persons That no one in his family pursued this profession. “I am only one who knows about five star hotels. My father was bureaucrat and he wanted me to do engineering. But I was more interested in fashion designing. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take its entrance exam. I had no plan to enter in this field but I loved to make different measurements and cocktails. Luckily, I got admission in IHM Hyderabad. My dad didn’t talk to me for till months when he got to know ‘Mera Beta Babarchi Banega…’. But I got good support from my elder brothers,” said the proud Chef.

“My inclination towards kitchen started when I got chance to do training in ITC’s Maurya Hotel in Delhi during second year. After completing hotel management course, I got offer from ITC hotels. And from here my real journey began. I have also worked in Cruise lines in USA which was very tough. I learnt International cuisines, regional foods, and new trends of culinary world from various prestigious and renowned chefs. After marriage I returned India.”

About the fest, the chef said “My this culinary journey will give one of a kind experience to food lovers in the fest. It would be an essence of my collective experience, from the barbecue and grill technique from U.S, the molcajete, dry roast and sous-vide from Mexico and fry & steam cooking from Indian kitchens. The menu will have handpicked popular Indian dishes. These dishes would be cooked using traditional and nouvelle culinary techniques without loosing their authenticity.”
