Bhopal: Congress star campaigner Navjot Singh Sidhu has got a clean chit for his statement on PM Narendra Modi in Indore. Sidhu, addressing a press conference on May 11, had said, “Modi Ji us dulhan ki tarah hai jo roti kam belti hai aur chudiyan zyada khankaati hai taki mohalle walo ko yeh pata chale ko who kaam kar rahi hai. Bas yehi hua Modi sarkar mein (Modi Ji is like a bride who makes more noise with her bangles than making chapattis so that neighbours know that she is working. This is what has happened with Modi government).”

BJP took cognizance of the statement and lodged a complaint. A complaint was lodged by Neeraj Kumar of Delhi in this connection. Election Commission had sent the complaint to CEO, who had asked the district returning officer of Indore to submit a report after inquiry. Indore returning officer submitted the report on Wednesday giving Sidhu a clean chit explaining that it was a comment on working of a government and not a personal remark against a person.
