BHOPAL: Sunil Kumar, vice-chairman of Chhattisgarh state planning commission visited the Dial 100 control room in the city and observed its working on Friday. He was accompanied by Chetan Kashyap, chairman of the state planning commission.
IPS officer Rajendra Mishra took them around the facility and briefed them about its working.
IG Anvesh Manglam provided the details of the scheme. He said that since the launch of the programme, Fast Response Vehicles (FRVs) had visited around 16.50 lakh places in the state.
Around 9000 policemen are deployed in the FRVs and are helping the distressed people. He also added that the programme was not only targetting criminal activities but also providing assistance to the people who need help and support to people caught in unpleasant situations. For example around 100 children who had lost their way or had fled from their homes were restored to their families.
