Bhopal: Police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old man for trying to come in the way of the CM’s motorcade on VIP Road at Koh-e-Fiza here. The accused came in the way of CM’s motorcade while he was on his way to the airport, the police said.

According to the police, on Tuesday at around 9.30 am near Khanugaon village, accused Amratas Tiwari, 28, was in his car on VIP Road just before CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s motorcade was to pass from there. Tiwari, son of a prominent businessman of the city, was listening to loud music in his car while driving. Seeing him on the way, the local police asked him to move out of the way citing the arrival of CM’s motorcade after some time on which he denied to do so. The police then cordoned off his car and forced him to park the same on the side of the road.

“The accused waited there till the motorcade passed from there but again put his car behind the motorcade, playing loud music. He was then again stopped by the police looking after the security of the CM’s motorcade and was asked to step out of the car, but he refused,” said ASP (zone-3), Rajesh Singh Bhadauriya adding the police repeatedly asked him to step out of the car but he refused every time.

“The accused works in the US and had come home a few days back. After his constant refusal to step out of the car, the police called a towing crane to tow his car to the nearby police station. After seeing the towing crane, he finally came out of the car after which he was booked under Section 283 of IPC for posing danger and obstructing public way or line of navigation. His car was also seized and taken to Koh-e-Fiza police station,” said Bhadauriya.

Sources, however, said after the accused refused to come out of the car, the towing crane took his car to the police station with him still sitting inside.

“After reaching the police station also he was not coming out of the car after which his father was called by the police. His father after coming to the police station too asked him to come out of the car and co-operate with police. He initially again refused but later agreed to abide,” said the source. Bhadauriya, however, denied that the crane towed his car to the police station with him inside. “It is totally wrong claim. After seeing the towing crane, he gave up and finally came out of his car. Investigations are on in the case,” he added.
