BHOPAL : To compete with private operators, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched three pre-paid mobile data plans which is claimed to be as cheap as Rs1.23 per GB. The 5G services can be launched in the third quarter of the current year.
Chief general manager GC Pandey informed in a press conference on Monday that BSNL had brought three new plans for mobile users. All three were different, as one was for only data use, another for talk time and data and the third for time validity including data and talk time, he said.
The special tariff voucher (STV) of Rs 333 will give 270 GB data with the speed of 3G for 90 days, while the cost of 1GB data will be Rs 1.23 per GB. Similarly the STV of Rs 349 will give unlimited free calling to any network in the state and will also get 2GB data for 28 days.
The STV of Rs 395 will have validation of 71 days including 3000 minutes on BSNL network and 1800 minutes on other network along with the unlimited data.
He claimed BSNL was going to start its 5G services by the end of the current year and it would be known as ‘Internet of Things’. It would be totally net based and the user could operate his fridge, air conditioner, tube light and other appliances through 5G services.
He added in the month of March 1,64,000 new SIM were sold by the BSNL and around 2,42,000 mobile user have ported in BSNL, whereas 96,000 have ported to other network from BSNL. By the end of the current year 2,000 new mobile towers of 3-G capacity will going take place in the state, which would improve 3G service.
