BJP has lodged complaint with the Election Commission urging it to cancel the nomination of Chief Minister Kamal Nath from Chhindwara. BJP has said that Nath concealed information about a FIR on him in the nomination papers.  The BJP delegation led by Shantilal Lodha to EC said that Nath has not disclosed relevant and substantial information in the nomination paper regarding the FIR against him, which is in violation to the provisions of the representation of the People’s Act.

The complaint said that CM had deliberately concealed information related to his criminal antecedents in the nomination paper. A FIR no. 176/2018 is registered against him at Shyamla Hills police station under section 465, 468, 469, 471, 472, 474 and 120 B of Indian Penal Code.  Nath did not mentioned it in the nomination papers therefore his nomination should be rejected, urged the BJP.
