Bhopal: Both the Congress and the BJP named their candidates for Ater and Bandhavgarh by-elections, on Wednesday. The Ater seat fell vacant due to untimely death of MLA and LOP Satyadev Katare while Bandhavgarh seat fell vacant as sitting MLA and minister Gyan Singh got elected to the Lok Sabha from Shadole.
The Congress has declared Hemant Katare and Savitri Singh for Ater and Bandhavgarh constituencies. The ruling BJP has fielded Shiv Narayan Singh as its candidate from Bandhavgarh and named Arvind Singh Bhadoria for Ater seat.
The BJP has decided to give chance to its former MLA Arvind Singh Bhadoria from Ater. Minister Gyan Singh was elected as member of Parliament from Sahdol constituency recently. The party has decided to give its ticket to his son, Shiv Narayan Singh.
The Congress has decided to give ticket to sitting district panchayat member Savitri Singh. Shiv Narayan Singh and Savitri Singh were members of the district panchayat in the last elections. At presen, Savitri is representing the district panchayat.
