Bhopal: Total blackout descended on the roads from Raj Bhavan to CM House and Raj Bhavan to directorate of public relation (DPR) road (Banganga), as street lights were shut down on Saturday night. It is held as one of the most important roads as cavalcade of Governor, CM, ministers, other VIP and their vehicles ply over these routes.
Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board (MBEB) shrugged off its responsibility putting ball on Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation Limited (BSCDCL). The blackout brought the top bosses of Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company and BSCDCL on their toes.
Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company officials said that company does not look after street light functioning or maintenance. It is Bhopal Municipal Corporation or Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation Limited (BSCDCL) to look after.
Company’s Bhopal circle GM Amrit Pal Singh said, “ MPEB only looks after power supply from transformer and streetlights are under either civic body—Bhopal Municipal Corporation(BMC) or BSCDCL Smart city cell—BSCDCL. I have been informed that BSCDCL staff is rectifying the fault and soon it will be restored.”
BSCDCL CEO Sanjay Shukla said, “Functioning of street lights of Raj Bhavan to CM House and other roads will be restored soon. We are looking into matter and staffs are working to rectify the faults.”
