BHOPAL: The staffers of 108 Ambulance staged ‘begging’ demonstration and sent letter to the President of India seeking permission to commit suicide, on Friday.

Staffers’ association general secretary Nitendra informed that they had written to the President seeking permission to commit suicide, because the operating company Ziqitza and the state government had not taken any decision in their favour.

The strike entered the 11th day on Friday. Sitting under the open sky since April 26, several agitators were admitted to the hospital following sunburn and dehydration. The agitators sat at Idgah Road and sought alms for ‘filling the coffers of the state government’.

They alleged the government had to pay money to the company and it had no money to pay to the agitators, due to which they had decided to collect alms for the state government. The staffers alleged their family financial condition had derailed; their children and parents were facing serious setbacks.
