BHOPAL: Aam Admi party staged demonstration in front of Electricity Regularity Commission, on Thursday protesting against distribution companies demanding 12 per cent hike in power tariff.
State coordinator Alok Agarwal also submitted objections collected from various parts of the state regarding irrational hike in power use.
He alleged that power tariff was quite high in the state and companies were now demanding another increase The state government is closing down power units producing power at cheaper rate and is purchasing power at higher rate from private companies.
He alleged that chief minister Shivraj Singh is selling power in cheap rate to other states but selling power at higher rates to its own citizens. The AAP will represent citizens during hearing in ERC, scheduled on March 9. He added that the party is conducting movement in state against irrational power rates and around 15 lakh objections have been collected till date.
