Bhopal: 3 ministers hear out demand, grievances, of employees

Bhopal: Three cabinet ministers listened to the grievances and demands of members of government employees associations and assured their early resolutions in a meeting held on Wednesday. The demands which do not add financial burden on state exchequer will be taken up before the Lok Sabha elections, the association members were assured.

Congress had made 68 promises to the government employees in its Vachan Patra, seeking their votes. Home minister Bala Bachchan, public relation minister P C Sharma and general administration minister Dr Govind Singh interacted with the members and sought their cooperation.

The meeting saw the participation of members of around 55 employees’ organisations. Addressing the meeting, Bachchan said, “The government is standing firm on its Vachan Patra and will consider the memorandums submitted by the organisations.” “The demands which would not put additional burden on the state coffer will be announced or implemented before the Lok Sabha model code of conduct,” said the minister.

The Vachan Patra is meant to implement in five-year span, but the government will fulfil the promises it made sooner than the scheduled time, said Bachchan. Admitting that state financial health was not good, the minister said “It will take more than one year to bring things on track”.

In the meeting president of contractual employees association, Ramesh Rathore demanded government to regularise contractual employees and also to restore the services of terminated employees, saying that decision in this context would not put financial burden on the state.

The class-III employees association Laxmi Naryan Sharma presented the proposal of changing name of several posts. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Kamal Nath will hold a meeting with the association officials later this month to discuss their demands.
