BHOPAL : Iqbal Singh Bains, principal secretary and IAS officer of 1985 batch was promoted as additional chief secretary on Monday. A post of ACS had fallen vacant following the retirement of Suranjana Ray. Bains will continue in the CM’s Secretariat besides holding the charge of aviation and energy departments.
ICP Kesri, principal secretary, energy had applied to the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan seeking posting in Delhi. Sources said Kesari may be appointed as resident commissioner of MP in Delhi. Chief Secretary (CS) Antony de Sa wanted to post Manu Shrivastava as PS, energy. Chouhan, however, gave the charge of energy department to Bains. Chouhan, who is not satisfied with the power situation in the rural areas, wanted to give the charge of energy department to his favourites. Chouhan and de Sa had a discussion on Monday on the proposed administrative reshuffle. Sources said some IAS officers may be transferred on Tuesday.
Sagar and Hoshangabad divisions are under additional charge of Commissioners. Transfers of principal secretaries and secretary level officers in Mantralaya are also on the cards. The transfer list could not be released earlier due to monsoon session of state Assembly.
