Assembly recruitment: Bail plea of 5 rejected

BHOPAL: Anticipatory bail applications of five accused was rejected in the case of illegal appointments in Vidhan Sabha. Devendra Tiwari, Rakesh, Rajesh Dwivedi, Brahmchari and SP Mishra had filed applications for anticipatory bail in the court of Kashinath Singh. Applications of all the five have been rejected.

FIR was lodged against 17 including former speaker Sriniwas Tiwari, former CM Digvijay Singh, city engineer Devendra Tiwari in Jahangirabad police station in connection with illegal appointment from 1993-2003.

Deputy Secretary of the state Assembly Shyamlal Maithil had filed the FIR at Jehangirabad police station in February 2015. The FIR was filed under sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.

on the recommendations of Justice (Retd) Sachindra Dwivedi committee, which found these appointments as illegal and recommended dismissal of these 17 persons.
