Accused in Joshis’ case surrenders, bailed out

BHOPAL : Miraj Ali, one of 18 accused in IAS couple Arvind Joshi and Tinu Joshi disproportionate properties case, surrendered in the court of ADJ DP Mishra on Friday. Ali had already obtained bail from the High Court. His bail was furnished in the Bhopal court on Friday.

The High Court has already given bail to Tinu Joshi. All the accused except Arvind Joshi, his sisters Abha Joshi and Vibha Gani Joshi are now on bail. Lokayukta had imposed charges of owning properties over 3,000 per cent disproportionate to their known source of the income. Lokayukta had raided the residence of the Joshi couple in February 6, 2010.

According to Lokayukta, investments were made in agriculture land, real estate and stock market. The couple bought agricultural and non-agricultural land at a number of places including around Kanha and Bandhavgarh national parks, Raisen, Balaghat, Sehore and Bhopal and even in Assam.
