18-yr-old girl meets watery grave in Delawadi Nullah

BHOPAL : An 18-year-old girl, who had gone for paying obeisance at the Salkanpur temple along with her family on Sunday evening, was washed away in a nullah near Delawadi. Her family members were rescued by the divers present at the spot. Later, some divers fished out her body around 400 metres away from the place where she was washed away and rushed her to Noble hospital in the city, where she was declared brought dead.

According to Misrod Police, the deceased was identified as Himanshi Shrivastava, daughter of Sunil Shrivastava, resident of Krishnapuram Colony at Hoshangabad Road. Himanshi along with her family members including her brother, sister, mother and maternal aunt were going to Salkanpur Temple. On their way, the nullah between Salkanpur and Delawadi was overflowing and the deceased along with her family members tried to cross it walking. When they reached half way through, the nullah suddenly started swelling and Himanshi, along with her sister, Mausi and mother were washed away. The locals rushed for help and rescued her mother, sister and Mausi but Himashi could not be saved. Later some divers spotted her body struck around 400 metres away from the spot. .

Body of gym trainer fished out

On the other hand the body of the 29-year-old gym trainer who had drowned in the nullah between Delabadi and Semra on Sunday evening was found around one km away from the site on Monday morning. Deceased Prameed Khare, son of Pramod Khare, resident of 892 Ashoka Garden, had gone along with his friends Kundan Modhia, Aga Shahnawaz, Awdhesh Goswami and Parth Shrivastava to celebrate birthday of Kundan.

Parth slipped in water and in a bid to save him Prameed jumped to rescue him but instead drowned in the swollen nullah. His body couldn’t be spotted on Sunday.
