One could understand Ramdev ji if Nehru ji had performed yoga on an international yoga day along with thousands of Indians on TV. However, by mentioning the word 'private' Ramdev baba has gotten himself into another entertaining troll.
According to him, Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi performed yoga in private and their heirs did not honour it which is why power has eluded them as those who do yoga are "directly blessed by god".
If only Rahul could perform yoga on TV, this wouldn’t have happened. Now please understand the person who is talking is very much determined and dedicated towards Yoga. We get it. However, how far can one stretch his dedication to support his favourite leader? He has done so by connecting power with his favourite yoga.
Ramdev, who will be attending an International Yoga Day event in Maharashtra's Nanded on June 21 along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, was talking to reporters.
He also expressed confidence that "big work" will be done on issues such as Article 370 and triple talaq under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He says, Modi is the first prime minister who performs yoga among people, and that all central ministers, chief ministers, MPs and MLAs of the BJP perform yoga. The party workers are busy running for these leaders or else they would have been leaders today if they invested a few minutes in Yoga.
Also practicing yoga has helped at least our dear PM if not any of his ministers. One of our favourite CMs from the lot, Devendra Fadanvis, couldn’t fly in a helicopter thrice in his term because of being overweight. And I would like to clear there is NO BODY SHAMING HERE. We are just talking about practicing yoga which has given him so much of success. He is a straw in the whole boat. Talking about bigger examples, we might not have a home to go back to since the minister there might get upset.
There is nothing wrong in praising your favourite leader, and nothing wrong in criticising the not-so-favourite leader either. However, when a public figure person makes illogical statements, as a responsible citizen, it is majorly misleading.
Ramdev sir’s logic-less comments don’t end here. He goes on to say that yoga is our "big legacy" and "beyond politics, caste, faith and religions", adding that everybody accepts that yoga is "rashtra dharma (national religion)".
He began with political comments and then contradicted his own statement. That's the beauty of our nation’s ideology I guess.
