Mumbai : In a battle of two top seeds, the first seed Vishnu Vardhan beat the second seeded Mohit Mayur to win the MSLTA Indian Oil Khar Gymkhana All India Ranking men’s 3.75 Lac Tennis Tournament 2016. It was a one sided clash as the top seed Vardhan won the final 6-2, 6-3. Mohit Mayur’s frustration was evident from the first set as he had no answers to the superfast serves of Vardhan. The 28 year old Vardhan who idolises Leander Paes said he has learnt immensely playing doubles with his idol. It was a dream come true for Vardhan when he played with Leander as his doubles partner at the 2012 London Olympics.
In the doubles final, the top seeded pair of identical twins Lakshit and Chandril Sood won the doubles title by defeating Armaan Bhatia and Dhruv Sunish 7-5, 7-5. The unseeded pair of Armaan and Dhruv gave tough competition to the Sood brothers, but that wasn’t enough to beat them.
The prize distribution was done by Mr.Sanjay Devnani, President of Khar Gymkhana in presence of other dignitaries.
