Mumbai: Steven Barboza’s brilliant hattrick was the highlight of Our Lady of Fatima’s, Santacruz, 4-1 victory over an inexperienced Mumbai United Under-18 in a Second Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League-2012-13, played at the St Xavier’s Ground Parel on Sunday. Marcus Fernandes netted the fourth goal for the Santacruz side, while Joy Perappadan scored the lone goal for the losers.

Earlier in an exciting and well-contested Third Division encounter, Youth Soccer Academy put it across Companeroes ‘B’ by a close 3-2 margin. Vaibhav Bhat, Amit Kanta and Tejas Jadhav, all contributed a goal each to complete the academy lads’ win, while Companeroes got their goals through Duran D’Souza and Rakesh Dhamaniya, both scoring one each. In another match, Salcette FC blanked Tata Consultancy Services SC by three goals to nil. For the victors, Rajesh Hembrom struck a brace and Sahil Mokane one to seal their win. Datta Krida Mandal also enjoyed an easy outing by handing Anjuma Islam a 3-0 defeat. Kunal Chavan, Ajinkya  Bhat and Craig Veigas scored one goal apiece to help Datta KM complete a deserving victory.
