Team India's veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami's wife Hasin Jahan has levelled some explosive allegations against the cricketer in a viral post on Instagram. Taking to her official Instagram account, Jahan revealed that their daughter has been admitted to an international school but accused Shami of spending money on children of a 'kept woman' instead of their own child.
The 34-year-old and his wife went through some ugly chain of events after getting married in July 2014. In 2018, the first allegations of domestic abuse and adultery against Shami surfaced as Jahan and her family lodged an FIR. Jahan had also accused Shami of being involved in match-fixing but none of it was proved. In July 2025, the Calcutta High Court had ordered the veteran cricketer to pay ₹4 lakh to his family, with ₹1.5 to his wife and 2.5 to the daughter.
Below is her Instagram story:
"Allah taala ke karam par aaj mai bahut khush hu,😊
(Thanks to Allah, I'm very happy today. My enemies wanted that my daughter doesn't get admitted to a good school but Allah took care of everything because she has been admitted to an international school. My daughter's father tried his best so she doesn't get admission to a good school.
"Jis beti ka pita arabpati ho ow pita sirf auratbazi ke wajah se beti ki zindagi se khilwar kar raha tha, aur khud ki rakhel ki bacho ko bade bade school me padha Raha hai. kuch rakhel ko lakho ka business class flight me ghuma raha hai lekin beti ki padhai ke lie paise nahi nikal raha tha.
Allah ka shukar hai ke desh me kanoon hai warna pata nahi hamare sath kya hota." (A daughter's father who is only into adultery was playing with her life. He was helping a kept woman's children get admission into big schools and also getting them business class flight tickets. But he couldn't spare money for his daughter. Don't know what would have happened to us had law not been there in this country.)
Mohammed Shami in focus as Asia Cup 2025 set to be picked soon
On the cricketing side of things, Shami will be in firm focus as the Indian selectors are reportedly set to meet next week to pick the squad for Asia Cup 2025. The Bengal pacer hasn't played for India since the Champions Trophy 2025 final and was notably omitted from the Test tour of England.
With the right-arm seamer struggling in IPL 2025 for SunRisers Hyderabad, averaging 56.16 in nine matches, there are inevitable doubts over his spot.
