Cental Railway’s Mahadeshwar advances in to the third round

Mumbai : Kewal Mahadeshwar of Central Railway recorded impressive back-to-back wins including a second round thriller to advance in the Matunga Gymkhana 6-Red Snooker Tournament on Monday.

Mahadeshwar of CR Mechanical Institute kicked off the day with a hard-earned win over Akash Asrani of Khar Gymkhana who frittered away a 3-1 lead in an exciting second round encounter.

Mahadeshwar staged a late recovery with impressive potting and changed the script with a 60-34, 52-60, 39-56, 38-49, 65-35, 45-38, 64-43 win in the best-of-seven frames contest. Later, he halted Rishabh Panchamia of MCF, Borivali with a 4-2 third round win.

The other significant winners were, Shivaji Park Gymkhana marker Jeet Gawde, Central Railway duo Joe Thomas and Aditya Shandilya and Devesh Gangwani of North Indian Association, while a notable second round loser was Percy Patel of Matunga Gymkhana.
