In the ongoing Big Bash League match between Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder, Aussie all-rounder Will Sutherland stunned everyone with a spectacular one-handed catch at mid-on to dismiss Sam Billings.

The incredible moment unfolded in the 14th over of Sydney Thunder's innings when Kane Richardson delivered a low full toss. Billings attempted to hit the ball over mid-on, but Sutherland leaped into the air and plucked a single-handed screamer. The commentators were left amazed, with one exclaiming, “Will Sutherland has taken a screamer!”

Sydney Thunders won the match by 8 runs

Earlier, Sydney Thunder posted a competitive total of 156 runs after being put in to bat. David Warner was the standout performer, anchoring the innings with an unbeaten 86. Warner received some support from Matthew Gilkes, who contributed 23 runs.

Despite keeping wickets in hand, Thunder struggled to accelerate against Melbourne Renegades’ disciplined bowling attack. Tom Rogers, Kane Richardson, Will Sutherland, and Adam Zampa each claimed a wicket.

In response, the Melbourne Renegades have put themselves in a difficult position during their run chase. Josh Brown got off to a quick start, scoring 22 runs before being dismissed, while England's Jacob Bethell fell for a mere 2 runs.

Jake Fraser-McGurk also struggled, contributing just 26 runs before losing his wicket. The Renegades collapsed dramatically, losing three wickets for just 6 runs, which has made their situation even more critical. Mackenzie Harvey, Will Sutherland, and Fergus O'Neill were all dismissed cheaply as well.

At present, Laurie Evans and Tom Rogers are sustaining the Renegades' hopes in the chase, having contributed 32 vital runs, including 3 sixes. Laurie Evans unfortunately lost his wicket at 40 runs, while Tom Rogers continued to keep the Renegades' hopes alive in the last over against Tom Andrews, but fell short by 8 runs.

Sydney Thunder bowlers have kept their team in the driver's seat, with Wes Agar and Daniel Sams causing significant trouble for the Renegades, taking 4 and 2 wickets, respectively. As it stands, the Thunder registered a crucial victory, having completely disrupted the Renegades' progress.
